Univision’s Popular Morning Show features CAPS’ Spay and Neuter PSA and an Interview with the PSA’s Star
Despierta America, Univision’s morning news program, presented a wonderful segment on the importance of spay/neuter and adoption of shelter and rescue animals. “Amor Eterno,” which aired on December 22, 2023, showed part of CAPS’ Spanish television PSA “Amar a Nuestros Animales Significa Esterilizarlos y Castrarlos.” Anchor Maria Antonieta Collins interviewed Jacqueline Piñol, the actress and animal activist who appears in the PSA, which is also in English.
CAPS’ primary focus for the PSA is on the Latino community, but we are also focusing on lower socioeconomic geographic areas for English speakers. The PSA is airing in 25 states, D.C., Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. The Spanish version is on 128 stations (mostly television), and the English version is on seven stations and one national cable network. Let it Be Known Public Relations, which placed our prior PSAs on television and radio stations, has been doing the outreach work.
You can learn more and download a flyer about the importance of spaying and neutering on CAPS’ bilingual resource page.
