CAPS is seeking volunteers in Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Arizona, and British Columbia to share at-risk dogs from Kern County Animal Services in Bakersfield, California, on Nextdoor to help them find forever homes. More than 400 dogs are currently living in overcrowded, substandard shelter conditions.
How You Can Help:
Volunteers will share information about at-risk dogs on Nextdoor in their local communities. CAPS will provide the information, photos, and videos for the dogs that need to be posted. Each post will include CAPS contact information so potential adopters can contact CAPS directly.
Why Your Help Matters:
Since February 2022, CAPS has saved more than 460 dogs through social media, Petfinder, shelter-to-shelter transfers, and shelter-to-rescue transfers. Previous adopters in Washington have also successfully shared at-risk dogs on Nextdoor, resulting in adoptions.
