Overview – Pet Fashion Boutique

Pet Fashion Boutique has just one store left – the original store in Yonkers.  The store had expanded to several other locations, including the Upper West Side of New York City.  CAPS held protests at the NYC location in November and December 2009. Kathy Bauck was one of the chain’s suppliers.  The owner of Pet Fashion and six employees, including the District Manager, were charged with 70 counts of animal cruelty in March 2011. The charges came after the Dutchess County SPCA and Poughkeepsie police removed seven ill puppies from the Galleria Mall store in Poughkeepsie, two of which were said to be near death. The puppies had upper respiratory infections and were dehydrated.
