A CAPS investigation of Select Puppies, a large USDA-licensed broker in Iowa, and the breeders who sell to them. Select took over The Hunte Corp in Missouri, where CAPS worked undercover for six months. Select was selling to Pet Connect Rescue, a fraudulent Missouri-based nonprofit started by Ray Rothman, a sales manager for Hunte and now Select Puppies. CAPS is working on lawsuits against Pet Connect Rescue. Pending the outcome of the federal case in California, a judge issued a temporary injunction against Pet Connect Rescue selling in California.
