Caged dogs

Satellite imagery shows a variety of kennel areas on the property, though it’s not clear how many are occupied. Solid fencing blocked my view to much of the property, but I did see one row of elevated outdoor wire cages. It was difficult to me to determine exactly how many there were, as I viewed them from the side, but there appeared to be about half a dozen. Enclosures seemed to be about two feet wide and tall, and about six feet long. Half of them were made of wire, with the other half having solid walls. I saw about two Poodles per enclosure for those that I could see.

Signs of severe anxiety and boredom

Two dogs paced back and forth for the 10 minutes I observed the kennel. The dogs walked just inside the doghouse, solid-walled portion of their enclosure before stepping back at onto the wire, walking to its end, and turning around to go back. The dogs did this almost continuously, barely stopping for a moment to look at something before resuming their pacing. Such behavior indicates severe stress, anxiety, and boredom.

Breeder is connected to the following store:

Forever Love Puppies, 7801 Johnson St, Pembroke Pines, FL 33024 (information obtained from CVI 2021; that store is no longer in operation, but Forever Love Puppies has another location in Pembroke Pines, two in Miami, and one in Fort Lauderdale.)

The Forever Love Puppies website says, “All of our breeders and licensed and approved, ensuring top breeding standards.” Unfortunately, such a claim can be made by the store about breeders like Kincaid since USDA standards allow dogs to be kept in wire cages for years as their mental health suffers to such a degree that they pace incessantly.

Online sales and warning about “animal rights extremist groups”

Kincaid sells online at https://www.kincaidsk9s.com/. Her website shows pictures of Poodles, Cavliers, and Yorkies sitting in the grass and by pictures used as photo backdrops. None show the dogs in the cages I saw on the property. On the website, Kincaid notes that due to “undercover activities by animal rights extremist groups,” they will not allow anyone on the kennel. It’s worth noting that in 2013, Kincaid used the Gust website to try to raise $,1000 for purchasing the property she was leasing and “add a new 20 run heated and cooled building (required per my current USA and Kansas state breeding licenses).” While that building may exist elsewhere on the property, the dogs I saw were not in it, and their repetitive pacing indicated they had been stuck in those cages for some time. Such conditions are likely what Kincaid does not want the public to see.
